Surface composites cast iron can be prepared through infiltrating liquid iron into coating based on brushing slurry on EPS foamed model in evaporative pattern casting (EPC). The slurry is composed of SiC powder

Cr-Fe powder and auxiliary infiltration agent as well as binder
etc. The effects of SiC and EPS bead on the surface quality
microstructure of infiltrated layer and wear resistance of the surface composites cast iron were observed. It is found that surface quality of the surface composites cast iron is excellent with SiC particle size of 2 μm and volume fraction of 50%
where its weight-loss is 37% of that of cast iron matrix
