Application and Development of High Vacuum Die Casting Process for Aluminum Alloys
High vacuum die casting process is a novel technology
which are mainly used to make automobiles parts due to lightweight trends. Key technologies including shut-off valve
vacuum system
sealing structure of die
release agent and gating system are investigated based on the MFT process(Minimum Filling Time) in the paper. Microstructure and properties of ZL101 were analyzed in the high vacuum die casting process. The results demonstrated that the developed high vacuum die casting process can meet the needs of the products. There are no bubbles occurred on the surface of specimen after being T6 heat-treated. Compared to general die castings
tensile strength of ZL101 alloy castings is up to t 204.55MPa and their elongation to 8.41%
and are increased by 17.16% and by 71.98%. However tensile strength was enhanced by 7.68% while their elongation was weakened by 6.78% after heat treatment.
