Forming Mechanism and Processing Control of Hot Crack in Die-casting Magnesium Alloys
The hot crack in die-casting magnesium alloys was observed
and its forming mechanism was analyzed in detail. The results show that the hot crack is resulted from the low thermal intensity
high hot brittleness and concentration of shrinkage stress in solidifying point area. The hot crack can be eliminated by properly adjusting chemical composition of the Mg alloy
enlarging chamfer size in hot crack position and altering processing parameters.
