Abstract
The microstructure and tensile behaviors of ZE10 magnesium alloy prepared through equal channel angular pressing (ECAP) by Bc route in the die with a intersecting angle of 120° between channels were investigated.Results indicated that
the grains were refined effectively by increasing the process passes.The initial process passes brought about an unhomogeneous grain structure including fine grains of 1
5
μm and coarse grains of about 20 μm.When the process passes were up to 8
the alloy’s microstructure became visibly uniform with fine grains of 1
2
μm.After 12 passes
the alloy acquired uniform equiaxed grains structure with the grain size of 0.5
1
μm.The mechanical properties were improved effectively with the increasing of pressing passes and the total strain.
