    Abstract

    Effects of B-modification and holding time after modification on the microstructure and mechanical properties of HPb59-1 brass were investigated.A certain amount of element B addition can improve the mechanical properties of the HPb59-1 brass,which is as a result of refining microstructure of the HPb59-1 brass and changing the distribution of α and β phases in the microstructure.Refinement can be improved with increasing in element B addition,in which the desirable refinement can be observed with adding B content in range of 0.008% to 0.015%.Modification effects of element B is fade with extending holding time,where desirable modification effects can be obtained with holding time for 10 min.
