Preparation of Semi-solid Al-5Cu Alloy by Ultrasonic Stirring
Semi-solid Al-5Cu alloy was prepared by ultrasonic stirring.The effects of important parameters
such as melt temperature
the ultrasonic treatment time and output power of ultrasonic stirrer
on the semi-solid structure of the alloy have been observed The results show that finer primary phase can be observed with increasing the melt temperature in the range of 610 to 660 ℃.In addition
the primary phase in the Al-5Cu alloy can be converted from coarse dendrite into fine spheroids with increasing the output power and time of ultrasonic stirrer at 660 ℃.
