Effects of Rare Earth Containing Ce on High Cycle Fatigue Behavior of AZ91D Magnesium Alloys
Tensile-tensile high-cycle fatigue testing was conducted for die casting magnesium alloy AZ91D with adding 1% and 2% RE containing Ce at ambient temperature in the condition of stress ratio of 0.1 to obtain the fatigue curve. The fracture mechanism and origination of the magnesium alloy were described by observing fracture morphology. The results show that proper RE containing Ce addition has the positive effect on the improvement of high-cycle fatigue behavior of the AZ91D magnesium alloy
exhibiting desirable effects with 1% RE containing Ce addition.
