Bulk Amorphous Alloy Cu60Zr30Ti10 by Laser Cladding
The Cu60Zr30Ti10 bulk amorphous alloy with the size of 75mm in length
10 mm in width and 1mm in height has been prepared with commercial pure materials by water cooled copper mold vacuum casting.The surface of the amorphous alloy was cladded by YAG laser beam
and the microstructure and micro-hardness of the alloy in the cladded zone have been observed by X-ray diffracto-meter
optical microscope and micro-hardness meter at different depths.The results show that two-layer new microstructure can be formed in the bulk amorphous alloy after laser cladding
in which the hardness and corrosion resistance of the second layer in the middle with the thickness of about 200 μm are evidently superior to those of the matrix
