Preparation and Characteristics of Strawberry-like TiO2/Cu Composite Particles
Strawberry-like TiO2/Cu composite particles were prepared by hydrolysis of Ti(OBu)4 in acidic-abundant aqueous solution and reflux in the presence of micron size Cu powders. The processing parameters were optimized based on orthogonal design. The characteristics of the TiO2/Cu composite particles were observed by FE-SEM (field emitting -scanning electron microscope)

TG-DTA. The prepared TiO2/Cu composite particles exhibit strawberry-like structure
in which TiO2 particle with about 100nm in size is covered on Cu powder by FE-SEM observation. XRD analysis shows that TiO2 particle exhibits amorphous phase. There exist Cu2+
Ti4+
Sn2+ on surface of composite particles by XPS analysis. The oxidized temperature of composite particles is increased by 200 ℃ compared with that of Cu powder
showing different oxidization process.
