Modeling of Dendrite Growth in Process of Aluminum Strip Rolling Based on the Cellular Automaton Method
Grain growth in aluminum strip during rolling was simulated by the cellular automaton method
in which the dendritic growth in super-cooled melt was considered based on simplified binary alloy by means of LGK model. Effects of cooling rate and super-cooled rate derived from rolling velocity on grain growth were simulated by the model. The results show that
with increasing in super-cooled rate
the grain size is increased at a given nucleation rate.
