Pulse Electrodeposited Ni-CeO2 Nanocomposites in an Ultrasonic Field
Ni-CeO2 nanocomposites were prepared by pulse electrodeposition in an ultrasonic field. Effects of processing parameters
such as concentration of CeO2 nano-particles in the electrolyte
pulse average current density
pulse duty cycle
pulse frequency
ultrasonic frequency and power as well as stirring rate
on CeO2 nano-particles content in the Ni-CeO2 nano-composites were evaluated by orthogonal experiment. The surface morphology and microstructure and micro-hardness of Ni-CeO2 nano-composites were also analyzed. The results show that co-deposited CeO2 content in the composites is markedly affected by the CeO2 particle concentration in the electrolyte. The Ni-CeO2 nanocomposites with high micro-hardness can be prepared by means of cavitation effects of ultrasonic wave and selecting suitable processing parameters of pulse electrodeposition
in which uniformly distributed disperoids can be observed.
