aging treatment and solution +aging treatment on microstructure and properties of electromagnetic continuous casting AZ31 magnesium alloy slab were investigated. The results indicate that microstructure and properties of the slab are related to different heat treatment processes. Hardness and ductility of solution treated slab are increased
while hardness of the aged slab is increased with the decrease of ductility. Meanwhile
hardness and impact absorption power of the slab treated by solution + aging treatment reach 51.52 and 3.40J
respectively. The impact absorption power and hardness of slab treated by an optimized heat treatment can reach 3.75J and 51.60
