Numerical Simulation of Liquid Steel Flow Characteristics in Centrifugal Flow Tundish for Continuous Casting
摘要
采用数值模拟对离心中间包内的钢液流动特性进行了研究
考察了分配室中挡坝的位置及旋转磁场强度对整体流场结构的影响
并通过试验验证了计算结果的可靠性。研究结果表明
当坝距较小时
分配室内形成了较大的水平环流
环流的形成有利于夹杂物的上浮去除。而当坝距较大时
分配室内的流场结构则呈现明显的非对称性
且随着坝距的增加
非对称越明显。这种非对称性的流场分布不利于钢液的混合
并导致了死区的形成。当磁场强度超过一定值时
磁场强度对钢液的整体流动形态无明显的影响。
Abstract
A mathematical model was used to investigate the liquid steel flow characteristics in centrifugal flow tundish for continuous casting.Effects of dam position and rotating magnetic intensity on flow structure were described
and the availability of calculation results was verified by the experiment.The results indicate that a near-distance from the dam to the exit of rotation chamber can promote the formation of the circumfluence in the distribution chamber
which is beneficial for removing inclusion
while a larger distance can result in obvious asymmetry flow structure in distribution chamber
and the asymmetry structure is more and more evident with the increase of dam distance
which is unfavorable for the mixture of liquid steel
leading to the formation of blind zone.Effects of magnetic flux intensity on liquid steel flow pattern can be neglected with the magnetic intensity more than a critical value.
