Prediction of Meniscus Shape in Two-section Slitless Mold for Soft-contact Electromagnetic Continuous Casting
The equation describing the meniscus shape in two-section slitless mold for soft-contact electromagnetic continuous casting was derived from theoretical analysis.The equation modified by the experimental results can be used to calculate accurately the meniscus shape
and prediction of meniscus shape of liquid steel in mold with 178 mm in diameter by the equation reveal that the height of meniscus is increased with increasing in the power and resistivity of top half of the mold
and it is decreased with increasing in frequency and thickness of the mold.The soft-contact electromagnetic continuous casting can be realized by using rational structural and electromagnetic parameters.
