Effects of RE Elements on Microstructure and Electric Conductivity of Pure Copper
hardness and microstructure of pure copper were investigated.The results show that appropriate RE elements
such as La
Ce
Nd and Y can improve electric conductivity of pure copper as a result of purification and impurity removal.The desirable La
Ce
Nd and Y additions are 0.05%
0.06%
0.06% and 0.02%
respectively
in which Y element exhibits the optimum effects on improvement of electric conductivity of pure copper.Mechanical properties of pure copper can be improved with RE element addition as a result of refining grain size
especially Y element addition.
