Microstructure and Properties of Ni60 Coating Prepared by Protective Induction Cladding
Abstract
Ni60 coating was prepared from the self-fusing alloy powder by induction cladding in refractory coating protection.Microstructure of the Ni60 coating was observed by optical microscope(OM)
SEM(scanning electronic microscope)
EPMA(electronic micro-analysis) and XRD(X-ray diffraction)
and hardness of the coating was measured also. The results reveal that the coating exhibits desirable metallurgical bonding mechanism with the matrix alloy
in which compact microstructure with little non-metallic inclusion and low porosity rate as well as uniformly distributed hardness can be presented. The cladding thickness can reach up to 0.6mm in one induction cladding
which is far superior to that of one prepared by the other cladding methods.Meanwhile
the coating quality is equivalent to that in vacuum cladding as a result of overcoming the shortcoming of induction cladding without protective coating.
