Effects of Heat Treatment on Microstructure and Properties of Semi-solid Extruded Al-Fe Based Alloy
Effects of heat treatment on microstructure and mechanical properties of semi-solid extruded Al-Fe-Cu-Mn-Zn-Mg alloy were investigated by SEM(scanning electron microscope)
TEM(transmission electron microscope)
XRD(X-ray diffraction)and tensile testing.The results reveal that mechanical properties of the semi-solid extruded alloy after T6 treatment are decreased
furthermore
with extending in solution time
the tensile strength of the alloy becomes lower
while it is slightly increased after T1 heat treatment.Semi-solid extrusion has the similar effects with severe plastic deformation
resulting in the re-dissolution of second phase that is equivalent to the heating effects of heat treatment
so it can lead to the growth of second phase in the alloy after solution treatment.
