Micro-pore foam aluminum was prepared by vacuum infiltration
and effects of different process on infiltrated length were approached theoretically. The results indicate that the hollow micro-balls pretreated by water and yttrium nitrate
respectively
the infiltrated length is greatly increased with increasing in diameters of the micro-balls
and it is drastically raised with increasing in pouring temperature of aluminum alloy
preheating temperature of micro-balls and mould
however
it is decreased with increasing in cavity section diameters. In addition
infiltrated length is improved with exerting mechanical vibration on the cavity.
