Processing Parameters Influencing Precision of the Parts Produced by Selected Laser Sintering
Factors influencing precision of selected laser sintered parts were analyzed based on theory and experiment
especially laser sintering parameters and sintering temperature. A set of processing parameters influencing size precision of metal powder were optimized through setting parts size as optimized target using 316 stainless steel as follows: laser power of 83W
scanning velocity of 16 mm/s
scanning spacing of 1/6 mm
thickness of sintering layer of 0.1 mm. Using these optimized sintering parameters
the precision of the part can reach ±0.05 mm
and metal prototype parts were fabricated successfully.
