Production of 5083 Alloy Parts by Squeezing Casting
A 5083 alloy trial-part was produced by squeezing casting.The optimized processing parameters
such as specific pressure of 125MPa
pouring at 670℃ for 15 s
were presented based on orthogonal testing and range analysis.Microstructure and mechanical properties of the squeezed parts in condition of the optimized parameters were analyzed.Compared with conventional casting parts
the squeezed casting parts exhibit finer and more uniform microstructure as well as the higher comprehensive mechanical properties
reaching up to or approaching the mechanical properties of hot forging ones.
