Three-dimensional Numerical Simulation of Fluid-thermal Coupling in Melt Pool of Twin-roll Casting
Three-dimensional mathematical model coupling with fluid-thermal field was established for molten pool based on considering free surface between air and molten steel as two phase flow
where rotation of twin-roller was taken into account.Flow morphology
temperature distribution and solidification of liquid steel in the molten pool with adopting wedge-shaped inlet were simulated by the model.Simulated results show that two circulation flow areas exist at the top and bottom regions of the side-nozzle in the molten pool.The height of Kiss point distributes in cosine pattern similarly according to the position of inlet along the longitudinal direction.
