There exists twining superplasticity in extruded-T5treated Mg-9Gd-4Y-0.6Zr alloy during tensile testing at 400℃
meanwhile
a new phenomenon is observed that a great deal of fine recrystallized grain is presented and a lot of twins occur in grains.Creation of twin grain can adjust grain orientation and release local stress concentration during deformation process
resulting in the crack free and void free in the microstructure.Deformation mechanism of the alloy at 400℃is a new superplasticity mechanism
which exhibits slipping in form of recrystallization on grain boundary and coordination in form of twin in grain.
