Behavior of 6006A Aluminum Alloy During Indirect Isothermal Extrusion Process and Its Numerical Simulation
Temperature change and metal flow behavior of indirect extruded 6005A aluminum alloy were analyzed by the FEM method and experimental verification. Based on the analyses
effects of practical extrusion parameters on properties of the alloy were analyzed. The results reveal that outlet temperature and extrusion loading peak value of the product are increased with increasing in ram velocity
while dead metal zone are shrank to the top of the die without shape change. Strain rate of the metal flow keeps constant with extrusion process tending toward steady stage. The microstructure and mechanical properties of the indirect extruded aluminum profiles are controlled by extruding temperature
