TiC/Ti3AlC2 composites were prepared by in-situ synthesis in 2TiC-Ti-Al system.Phase constituent and microstructure of the reactive products at different synthesized temperatures were observed by XRD(X-ray diffraction) and SEM(scanning electron microscope)
and its density and compressive strength were measured. The results reveal that with increasing in reactive temperature
Ti3AlC2 phase content is decreased and TiC phase content increased
meanwhile
lamellar or layered Ti3AlC2 phase is decreased and larger TiC particle is greatly increased. With sintering at 1350℃
Ti3AlC2 phase content is higher
and density and compressive strength of the composites reach 4.03g/cm3 and 111.29MPa
