Secondary Phase and Inclusions in 3104 Aluminum Alloy Big Flat Ingot
Secondary phase and inclusions in 3104 aluminum alloy big flat ingot were observed by SEM(scanning electron microscope) and EDS(energy dispersive spectrometry).The results show that there exists a lot of coarse skeleton(FeMn)Al6 phase and a little α-Al(MnFe)Si
Mg2Si and free Si-rich phase in the 3104 aluminum alloy flat ingot.Inclusions in the flat ingot are mainly composed of oxides
residual fluxes and Si-rich or Ti-rich intermetallic compounds.The origination of inclusion in the flat ingot was approached
and countermeasures of eliminating or reducing coarse compound and inclusions were presented.
