Effects of Minor Sb on Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of Cast Mg-7Gd-3Y Alloy
Effects of minor Sb on as-cast microstructure and ambient as well as elevated mechanical properties of Mg-7Gd-3Y alloy were investigated by OM(optical microscope)
SEM(scanning electron microscope) and XRD(X-ray diffraction).The results show that Gd5Sb3 and Y3Sb phase can be created with 1%Sb addition in the alloy
refining obviously size of the grain.Meanwhile
ambient and elevated tensile strengths increase by 3.35% and 5.3%
