Abstract
Suction casting SiCp/A356 metal matrix composites(MMCs)with 5% reinforced particles and A356 alloy were carried out
respectively.Temperature of castings and mould during filling and solidification process was measured to discuss the temperature variation of SiCp/A356 composites and A356 alloy castings and their moulds.The results show that SiCp addition can increase the temperature-decrement rate of SiCp/A356 composites before solidification and decrease the temperature-decrement rate after solidification.In addition
due to the difference of latent heat between the composites and the matrix alloy
the solidification transformation temperature of SiCp/A356 composites is lower than that of A356 alloy.
