Abstract

SiCp/ZL105 composites were fabricated by ultrasonic vibration diluting high SiC volumetric fraction SiCp/ZL105 preforms which was prepared by pressure infiltration process.Effects of ultrasonic vibration processing parameters on microstructure and performance of the composites were investigated.The results reveal that SiC volumetric fraction can reach up to 55%~60% in pressure nitrated preforms,and SiC volumetric fraction in SiCp/ZL105 composites prepared by ultrasonic vibration diluting preforms can reach up to 9%~23%,in which uniformly dispersed SiC particle exhibits desirable bonding with the matrix.With increasing in SiC particles,hardness and wear resistance of the composites are obviously improved.
