Effect of Pulse Duty Cycles on Structure and Corrosion Resistance of Microarc Oxidation Films on 6061 Al Alloy
The effects of cathodic & anodic duty cycles ratio of a bipolar square pulse power source on constitute
structure
surface morphology and corrosion resistance of microarc oxidation ceramic film’s were investigated. The results show that cathodic & anodic duty cycles have important influence on the film’s thickness
structure
morphology as well as corrosion resistance. Firstly
the surface roughness and mullite phase are increased with the the increese ratio of cathodic & anodic duty cycles. Secondly
a moderate da/dc is a key to obtain desirable corrosion resistance on MAO ceramics films. The duty cycle ratio also influences the film growth pattern. With da/dc≠1
the anodic voltage jumps suddenly in the third stage of the microarc oxidation time-growth curve.
