Effect of Sparking Plasma Sintering Temperature on the Microstructure and Properties of Ultra-fine Crystalline W-40Cu Composites
Abstract
Bulk ultra-fine crystalline W-40Cu composites with compact structure were fabricated by spark plasma sintering(SPS) technique with super microcrystalline W-40Cu powders which were prepared by high energy ball milling technology. The effects of sintering temperature on the microstructure and properties of the composites were investigated. The results
show that with the increase of the sintering temperature from 800 ℃ to 950 ℃
the relative density
micro-hardness
and electrical conductivity of the composites prepared are increased. The composites sintered at 950 ℃ for 5 min make approximately 300~500 nm in W grain size
