Friction and Wear Behavior of Aluminum Manganese Alloy and its Composites
The sliding friction and wear behavior of aluminum manganese based composite materials
aluminum manganese alloy and pure aluminum were measured through using the M-2000 type tester with or without corrosion liquid
respectively
and their surface morphology was observed by LED 1430 VP type scanning electron microscopy.The results show that the cutting wear is predominant in the materials with the corrosive liquid while adhesion wear is dominant in the matirials without corrosion liquid
and the wear loss of the different materials is as follows:Al-Mn composites less than Al-Mn alloy less than pure aluminum.With the same Mn content
the wear resistance of the Al-Mn composites is obviously superior to that of Al-Mn alloy.
