Abstract
Theoretical basis and practical method in numerical simulation of casting thermal stress based on finite element method(FEM) were described
and a simulation program of casting thermal stress was developed.A typical specimen of stress frame has been used to validate the algorithm and program
the simulation results of commercialized software ANSYS and the actual casting castings are compared
and the results are well in agreement.The presented numerical simulation program of casting thermal stress based on finite element method can get well simulation results with reliable run.
