    Abstract

Effects of Fe content on mechanical properties of Al-Si alloy were investigated, and the microstructure of Al-Si alloy with Fe content less than 0.05%,0.1%,0.3%and 0.5% was observed, meanwhile, fracture morphology of the high purity Al-Si alloy with Fe content of less than 0.05%,0.5% and 1% was analyzed. The results show that the tensile strength and the elongation of the alloy are linearly decreased with the increase of the Fe content when its content is less than 0.5%,while the ultimate tensile strength and the elongation of the alloy reach the minimum value with the slight increase of yield strength with the Fe content in range of 0.5%0.6%.
