The distribution of shrinkage pipe in ingot with large ratio of height to diameter was investigated by numerical simulation and industrial experiment.The accuracy of the mathematical model was verified by the anatomical result of 5.3 tingot.On this basis
the formation mechanism of shrinkage pipe in 10.5 tingot was analyzed and the influence of different casting parameters on the distribution of shrinkage pipe in ingot was further discussed.The results indicate that the change of pouring temperature
pouring speed and cooling strength of the outer surface of the mold have little effect on the distribution of shrinkage pipe in ingots.With the increase of the insulation brick length
the depth of shrinkage pipe is decreased
and the increase of length of insulating brick of effect on the distribution of shrinkage pipe can be ignored when the length exceeds 500 mm.
