Abstract
The characteristics
growing ways of divorced eutectic β phase and its effects on mechanical properties of Mg-Al alloys have been reviewed briefly. The measurements improving and restraining the β phase were paid attention to. The toughness of the alloys can be hampered by much rigid and crisp β phase precipitated from grain boundary in Mg-Al alloy with non-equilibrium solidification. The experiments improving and restraining divorced eutectic β phase in Mg-Al series alloy were conducted. The results indicate that the rational measures can effectively improve and restrain the growth of divorced eutectic β phase.
