Abstract

The thixoformability of in-situ reactive spray formed TiCP/7075 Al matrix composites was studied and the microstructures and mechanical property of thixoforming products were also investigated.In-situ reactive spray formed TiCP/7075 Al matrix composites showed good thixoforming behaviour.The matrix composites could be thixoformed at a pressure as low as 20~25 MPa.After the semi-solid processing at 625 ℃,the matrix composites kept the equiaxed grain features with an average grain size between 30~40 μm.Hardness of the thixoformed matrix composites was 82~85HRB,after T6 treatment.
