    • Casting Quality and Lifespan Dilation of Anode Copper Molds by Mold Flow Simulation Technology

    • Using mold flow simulation technology, an expert system studied the effects of process parameters such as mold temperature, pouring temperature, and pouring speed on the casting quality of anode copper molds, as well as the role of cold iron in improving the microstructure of anode copper molds. The results indicate that stress concentration is mainly distributed in specific areas, shrinkage mainly occurs below the gate, and the overall deformation of the copper mold is small and symmetrical. The shrinkage volume of the anode copper mold poured under the fully optimized parameter conditions was reduced by 35.79%, the maximum casting stress was reduced by 1000 MPa, the columnar grain size in the area where the cold iron was added was reduced by 40.29%, and the cold insulation defects in the top rod hole and other areas of the copper mold surface were improved.
