Application of Multi-scale Modeling and Simulation in the Research of High Entropy Alloys
High entropy alloys with a multi-principal element design
which can complement the traditional alloy design concept
are capable of achieving excellent comprehensive performance
thus presenting significant potential for practical applications in the industrial field. At present
many limitations still exist in the current research of high-entropy alloys
such as the time-consuming
high-cost R & D processes and the incomplete basic theories. Multi-scale modeling and simulation are playing a key role in material science
which can provide an efficient way for the design and micro-scale mechanistic study of high-entropy alloys. Applications of different multi-scale modeling and simulation methods in the research of high entropy alloys during the past years were reviewed
and some future research directions were also prospected.
